Students that make me shake my head

Today during class, one of my little ones came up to ask me for some tape. I asked what he needed the tape for and he pointed to his shirt. There was a neat little slit in the front of his shirt that had undoubtedly come from the curious misuse of his scissors. When I asked if he had cut his shirt, he hesitate before responding, "Yes. But actually, this has never happened before. Every other time I put my shirt in my scissors, nothing happened." I explained that I didn't think the tape would help his shirt at this point. He stood there with his innocent, big eyes and asked, "What can I use?" I chuckled, and said, "Well, I guess we could staple it together." (I teach the TAG class so they usually get my sarcasm.) He paused for a bit, shrugged his shoulders, and said, "Sure." Taking the stapler, I held the gap in the fabric together and stapled the slit shut. As soon as I finished he said, "Oh no! Take it out! At least the tape is invisible. My mom will see the staples!"

That is so funny!! I'm curious what his mom said when he got home!

Too cute. It is one of those stories that you can just imagine his little brain thinking this whole thing through and then YOU brought up the staples!! Now he has a slit in his shirt and two little staple holes :) Just kidding, you'll have to send his mom a link to your blog so she can have a good laugh about it.
