It's Great to be Eight!

This post is for you, Maggie Lyn Gutierrez!

Maggie Lyn's baptism was held on Saturday afternoon.  It is a day she has looked forward to all year! Throughout this year, we have all watched her strive to live the gospel daily.  She reads her scriptures. She says her prayers.  She is a good example to her sister. She tries hard to do the things her parents expect her to do. She is an excellent student in school. And, she is a wonderful granddaughter and great-granddaughter. She has been sharing her testimony on Fast Sunday and today was the first time she did it as an actual member of the church.

Maggie looked beautiful on her special day. She wore the same dress that her mommy wore when she was baptized and that made it even more special.  We were so proud of Maggie and her decision to be baptized and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her baptism was shared with 4 other children from our ward, and was well attended by many of our members. From our family, we had Mimi, Mommy, Daddy, Sophie, Uncle Scott, Uncle Eddie, Aunt B, and Seth.  Poppy and Uncle Ryan couldn't come because they were in Ohio for Grandpa Charles' funeral.  They were sad to miss this important event.  We also had many good friends that came to celebrate this special day with her.

We love you, Maggie Lyn, and know you will continue to learn all you can about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We are excited for the many wonderful things that will continue to happen throughout your life.
